Empties || Products I’ve Used Up and Would I Repurchase? || Fall 2018

Hey everyone! It’s been such a long time since I did my last empties post (as you can tell by the amount of items here) so I thought I’d do an update and show you the items I’ve used up in the last few months and if I’d repurchase them or not!

Maybelline Superstay Full Coverage Foundation – I loved this foundation so much this summer, especially worn with the Fenty foundation (below). It really is full-coverage and makes your skin look very smooth and skin-like at the same time, and lasts all day. It’s my favorite drugstore foundation at the moment, though I’ve found that I go through it very quickly, and this is my second or third one.

Fenty Pro-Filtr Soft Matte Longwear Foundation – I’ve raved about this foundation so much in the past, and I absolutely love it still! I’ve repurchased over and over again, as it has a very nice coverage and makes your skin very matte which is great for my oily skin, while still having a nice finish. Currently I’m loving my new Beauty Blender Bounce foundation over this one though, because you can use less of the product to get good coverage.

Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation – I got this back when Sephora had their VIB sale and fell in love with it. Stick foundations are becoming a big thing right now, but I think this one is probably still one of the best! It gave my skin a great full-coverage, flawless look, but once again my main gripe with this product is that you have to use so much of it and I went through the whole stick very quickly, in a couple months, and it’s very expensive, so for that reason I wouldn’t repurchase.

Eye Makeup

NYX Tres Jolie Eyeliner – I’ve had a few good ones of these and one bad one! The “good” versions very black, opaque, and creamy, while the lesser-good ones were a little stiff and harder to use. With both good and bad versions I’ve had of this liner they’ve lasted all-day and stay put, so for that I will continue to repurchase because it’s a hard thing for me to find in a liner.

ColourPop Brow Boss Pencil – As you can see here, I’ve gone through two of these (at least) right here! This is my favorite brow pencil because it makes getting a super precise and defined brow super easy. My only gripe is you often have to twist up for more product after doing even one brow, but they’re only $5 and you can order them now at Ulta, too! I’ve ordered back-ups upon back-ups.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara – I think this mascara is okay, I think they may have changed the formula? Before when I used this mascara, I got very voluminous lashes very quickly, but now I have to build them up a lot more to get a good effect. Recently I’ve gotten lash extensions so I’ve been using the non-waterproof version and it works alright. I prefer the Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara, which is much more expensive, but I find you can get long, voluminous-looking lashes with just one coat of it, which makes putting on mascara much faster and easier.

Milani Eyeshadow Primer – This one is cheap and a goodie! It’s a workhorse product, kept my eyeshadows lasting all day without creasing and making them more vibrant. I’m on my 2nd tube currently.

Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 50 – I don’t have much to say about this product except that I use it every morning because SPF is very important and it’s lightweight and not thick like some other SPFs. I’ve repurchased over and over again and will continue to do so.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture Combination Skin Moisturizer – Again I don’t have much to say about this, it’s a very basic moisturizer and gets the job done. Mostly I repurchase because it’s the only moisturizer I know for sure doesn’t break me out and is cheap.

Japonesque Proessional Brush Cleaner – Kind of boring but it’s a great quick spot-cleaner for your makeup brushes! It’s $15 so a little expensive for some people but it will last you forever and clean your brushes while drying super fast.

img_0008.jpgUp & Up Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes in Evening Calm – These are supposed to be the Target version of the Neutrogena Night Calming wipes. I prefer those to these because they have more makeup remover, are softer, and get the job done faster even if they are a little more expensive so for that reason I’d prefer just to get the Neutrogena version.

Haircare & Perfume

Ouai Hair Oil – I’ve talked about this before and obviously love it because I went through two of them. This makes my hair smooth, shiny, and moisturized but because of the price I will only buy during the VIB sale. It also smells nice, as well!

Not Your Mother’s Knotty to Nice Conditioning Detangler – This is again kind of a basic product but it gets the job done. It keeps my hair from getting damaged by making it easier to run a brush through it and is relatively inexpensive, so I will continue to repurchase.

Victoria’s Secret Crush Fragrance Mist – This is a mini-perfume I kept in my purse during the summer. It had a nice fruity/summery scent and was nice to touch-up with during the summer especially since it was dirt cheap. I have a few VS perfumes I like to switch up and bring with me from time to time to freshen up.

That was my Empties post for October! Hope you enjoyed. Feel free to let me know any products you’ve used or up enjoyed in the comments below.

  1. I am obsessed with the Maybelline foundation you wrote about! I’m probably on my fifth bottle of it by now! I really want to try the Fenty foundation now, though. This really helped me in deciding to try out some new products!
