What I Bought at Ulta || Haul + Mini Reviews #3

I recently went shopping at Ulta. This is my haul with mini-reviews.

Milani Amore Shine Liquid Lip Color in Tenderness – This is a lip color that is more like a pigmented lip gloss than a dry-down matte liquid lipstick. It goes on very smoothly and pigmented and has a nice pointed diamond shaped applicator, and the color is a very nice warm pinkish nude color. It lasted for a decently long time on my lips.

Morphe Brontour in Celebutante – This bronzer was okay but didn’t blow me away. I was expecting a little bit more from this as I’d heard some good things about the Brontours on YouTube – not sure if this is just Morphe hype. I had to use a little more of this than my average bronzer and it went on smoothly enough with somewhat decent pigmentation but didn’t have the lasting power I was looking for – my cheeks are oily and product disappears more easily from them but I’ve still managed to find other bronzers that had better staying power than this one. This one is getting returned to the store.

Dose of Colors Block Party Eyeshadow in Encore – I’ve heard a lot about these shadows online lately and was excited to get my hands on this warm, bronze-y sparkly color. I applied it with my finger and it was very smooth, decently pigmented, and the sparkle was very pretty. It had good lasting power as well.

Morphe Highlight & Contour Beauty Sponge – This sponge has become my new favorite sponge to use that I use daily. It’s a bit bigger than the Real Techniques Miracle Sculpting Sponge that I was using before and has two long flat sides that make getting under your eyes for a under eye concealer a snap. It’s a little bit stiff while still being somewhat squishy and is generally pretty durable. I’ve been loving using this all the time lately.

Essence Eye Blender Brush – This brush is a little more fluffy and loosely packed than a typical fluffy blending brush that I’m used to, but it is very soft and good for blending out shadow as a transition shade in the crease or blending out edges of your eyeshadow in the outer crease.

Makeup Revolution Reloaded Newtrals 2 Palette – This eyeshadow palette was an absolute find for only $7 at Ulta. The shades are extremely pigmented, more pigmented than some of my high-end shadows and blend out well into themselves. I’ve gotten plenty of warm-toned looks that I like out of this palette for every day and I recommend this highly for anyone who likes warm eyeshadow looks as you simply can’t go wrong it.

Wet ‘n Wild Liquid Catsuit Liquid Eyeshadow in Cashmere Love – I liked this decently enough but I didn’t like this as much as the gold shade in this formula. It’s pigmented and goes on easily if you just swipe it on and pat it out with your finger, but the sparkles in this bronze shade are not very visible – you have to go very close to your eye to see the sparkles. I still like the formula to maybe consider other colors, especially since I liked the gold shade in this formula a lot, but I would say this color might be a pass unless for some reason you want your sparkle in your eyeshadow to be very, very subtle.

Essence Volume Stylist 18hr Curl & Hold Mascara – I’m on the fence with this mascara. Sometimes it goes on and makes your lashes very thick and coats them nicely, but it doesn’t lengthen very much at all or hold a curl like it says it should in it’s name. Sometimes it doesn’t thicken my lashes at all and just gives them some separation. It does  not flake or smudge as much in the summer heat as some of my other mascaras. Personally I would save your money on this mascara although it is only $4.99 and just put it towards a mascara from L’oreal or Covergirl.

Essence Make Me Brow in Soft Brown – I love this brow mascara! The wand is very small and precise (think like the Benefit Gimme Brow) and fills in any extra gaps your pencil or pomade might’ve missed, and also gives them decent hold. I would be a little bit careful if you’re at the tail of your eyebrow and are trying to fill it in because it might leave some extra product on your skin if there aren’t any brow hairs there and make them look a little messy though.

That was my Ulta haul! Have you tried any of these of these products, or are thinking of getting any of them? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
