Products That Disappointed Me || Whatever Lydia Does

Disclaimer: (for these types of posts) These products didn’t work for me but it doesn’t mean that they might not work for you! I’m simply here to talk about products and whether they worked out for me or not, and these products didn’t work out for me. If they worked out for you, that’s great! Let me know if there’s another way I can use them in the comments, I’d be very eager to know. I’m just trying to show both the good and bad sides of the makeup world 🙂

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask ‘The Super Hydrating Mask Mattifying’

This mask claimed to hydrate my face and also mattify it, and it did neither. I had some dry patches which it made drier and patchier and the rest of my face had a weird sheen on it afterwards. I could have tried another one after this, but I honestly did not want to waste the $$.

Yes to Tomatoes Clear Skin Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask

This mask I tried to use over and over again, but mostly it just did not make much of a difference. I tried it on regular days on my skin and on days I was having some trouble and I did not notice much afterwards either way. I wouldn’t re-purchase also because it was slightly on the pricier side for a drugstore mask, especially what it was.

Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter in Golden Kiss

Several people in the makeup community didn’t like this highlighter at the same time I got it, and I disliked it for the same reasons. It looked heavy and very makeup-y on my face, and I could really only salvage it as an eyeshadow, which for the record, does look very pretty, if you have a need for an eyeshadow the size of a large highlighter. 🙂

BareMinerals BareSkin Sheer Sun Serum Bronzer

This product has a good idea theoretically – kind of like a bronze Cover Fx custom enhancer drops. The problem is that it had no pigmentation and even if you used several  drops it didn’t add much of a bronze glow. Even so when it did go on it was slightly patchy as well. This product was a sample size I got from a Sephora Play box for the record of why it’s so small.

L’oreal True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops in Daybreak

This liquid highlighter I had a lot of high hopes for but it just didn’t deliver. From a liquid highlighter I often try to find something that will stand out alone on top of liquid foundation or mixed in with foundation, or to boost a powder highlighter I put on top, and this highlighter just didn’t do much of any of these things. It gives a little bit of glow but doesn’t last on top of powder foundation.

Maybelline Face Studio Blender Sponge

I wanted to love this sponge so badly! The curve on the side makes it very unique and I saw a lot of beauty gurus going on about it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t that soft when I used it wet and soaked up a lot of product that I know I typically use less compared to my Loreal blender sponge (which I totally love, as I’ve mentioned and totally recommend) so in the future I’d just re-purchase that sponge (I have two of them already haha).

Jordan Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color

This liquid lipstick I was very intrigued and excited about due to it’s color range price selection, what with them being around less than $5 at the time in Walgreens. Unfortunately, the quality just didn’t not match up with the price with this one. The lipstick was extremely dry and patchy and did not go nicely on at all, even for the price. At this price point I’d recommend spending a few more dollars and getting the Loreal Pro Matte liquid lips (post up on this on the main page) or even the Wet ‘n Wild version as the formula is way substantially better than this one on those.

That’s it, those are the products that didn’t work out of me recently. Let me know in the comments your thoughts and any products that didn’t work out for you recently? I’d love to hear. xo Whatever Lydia Does – xo
